Roy Schwartz has over 25 years experience in IS management, specializing
in Marketing and Sales in both retail financial services and consumer
packaged goods industries.
Prior to his role with LED, Roy was Vice President, Information
Systems at Prudential Insurance. Roy led all technology development
supporting Prudential’s life insurance sales and marketing
channels. Roy was Program Executive in charge of Prudential’s
award-winning LaunchPad program, a sales force automation
initiative for Prudential’s 12,000 insurance agents including
application systems, technology infrastructure, laptops, agent training
and support. Among the new software introduced were centralized customer
information access, lead generation, client marketing tools, and
case and contact management. Roy also led the Prudential XpressBrokerage initiative
and built a B2B marketing Internet portal for Prudential insurance
products through third-party independent distribution channels. Roy
was responsible for creating Prudential Life Insurance’s Internet
strategy to market life insurance products and to support agent-customer
relationships.
Prior to joining Prudential, Roy worked at Connecticut Mutual, reengineering
their agency distribution channel and implementing process and technology
improvements in agencies. He implemented various technology programs
including central database marketing, lead generation systems, agency
case and contact management software, brokerage systems, and agent
laptops.
Roy also was a Principal at Symmetrix, a management consulting
firm specializing in business change management and information technology.
At Symmetrix, Roy consulted with major financial service and consumer
goods companies in the areas of information systems for international
insurance, corporate marketing, new business development, and manufacturing
operations.
In addition to his financial services background, Roy has 15 years
experience in the consumer packaged goods industry. As IS Director
of Grand Met PLC, Roy spent 2 years in Europe developing the IT strategy
for this major international beverage company. In the U.S. , Roy
headed up systems development at Heublein, a major marketer of U.S.
spirits and wines.
Roy holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from Cooper Union, an
MSEE from the University of Pennsylvania , an MBA in Marketing from
the University of Connecticut and completed Harvard’s executive
program for information services management.
