Steven Lurie is a licensed psychologist
with over eighteen years of Organizational consulting experience. The
founder of LED, he has successfully consulted to hundreds of executives
and organizations from Fortune 50 to family-owned businesses.
Before starting Lurie Executive Development in 1986, Dr. Lurie was
Senior Vice President at BeamePines, a Management Consulting firm
specializing in Executive Development. Prior to that, he was Director
of Psychological Services at Hay Career Consultants, a division of
the Hay group. While at Hay, Dr. Lurie managed a network of over twenty
psychologists responsible for the assessment and counseling of hundreds
of executives.
Dr. Lurie is Associate Clinical Professor at Adelphi University where
he teaches and supervises doctoral students in psychology. Over the
past fifteen years he has held faculty appointments at Yeshiva and
St. John's Universities where he taught courses and supervised doctoral
and medical students. He has lectured and written several articles
on a wide range of management psychology issues.
Dr. Lurie's interest throughout his career has been the study of
interpersonal behavior in organizations and families. He earned his
Bachelor's degree with High Honors in Psychology from Brandeis University.
He went on to get a Ph.D. in Psychology from Adelphi University where
he then completed their four-year postdoctoral program.
Dr. Lurie is a full member of the American Psychological Association,
Nassau County Psychological Association, Metropolitan Association
for Applied Psychology, and American Society for Training and Development.
